— World Class Photographer and Athlete Debuts Book Dedicated to Sports Icons With Proceeds Benefiting Animal Charities —

Miami, FL – November 7, 2015 – The first thing you need to know about Andrea Mead Cross is that she was named after Andrea Mead Lawrence, the first American Alpine skier in history who won two Olympic Gold medals.Born in Detroit and raised in southwestern Michigan, it seemsfrom the day she was born her future was ordained. She never deviated from her destiny, becoming a world-renowned athlete who excelled in two sports – swimming and triathlons. Cross’s passion comes from a profound knowledge of the sacrifices made by top-tier sports figures; she is intimately aware of the unrelenting commitment required from athletes from a very young age to achieve phenomenal success.

As Cross says, “Many years ago, my mother gave me a book called The Heart of a Champion. It inspired me as a young swimmer with stories of determination, perseverance, discipline, and integrity. As an athlete involved in high-level competition, I quickly learned to incorporate those lessons early in my life. Later, it was my father who introduced me to his love of photography.

When my sports career ended, I transitioned to a new career as a photographer, using the passion my father instilled in me. Sports Souls is the culmination and celebration of my life’s work!” The book will launch and be available for purchase on www.Amazon.com in mid-December for $34.99. You can also visit www.andreameadcross.com to pre-order the Limited Edition ”100 for 100” which is a 100 copies numbered and signed by AMC each for $100 and going towards a great cause today!

Then she dedicated herself to triathlons – as a professional triathlete, Cross competed on several national teams and at her best was ranked top 10 in the world.

As Cross explains, she found that the camera gives her the ability to experience an appreciation of sports through a different medium. When she left sports competition, she had already transitioned into the design world, starting her own business and working with many national and international clients, including Parade, Huffington Post, McDonalds, ESPN, and HSBC. After teaching Visual Communications as an adjunct professor, photography eventually became her main focus and capturing unique and unexpected images of world-class athletes her passion.
