CTA Mourns the Passing of Susan Littleton, Former VP of Marketing

Susan Littleton, longtime vice president of marketing and friend, mentor and role model to many at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), passed away Sunday at her home in Boise, ID, after a short battle with cancer.

“Susan mentored and taught so many, and she leaves a strong legacy,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “She helped propel CES to greatness, and her planning and organizational skills are legendary among our staff. We will miss her terribly.”

“Susan will have a lasting impact on CTA and her colleagues as a mentor, teacher and dear friend,” said Glenda MacMullin, chief operating officer and CFO, CTA. “She approached her work as she did her life – with enthusiasm, compassion and a sense of humor. She’ll be missed by all who crossed her path.”

Susan started her own event marketing consultancy, SLL Consulting, last year after a 15-year career at CTA. During her time at CTA, she led marketing for the association and CES® – the global stage for innovation – helping drive CES attendance to more than 50 percent growth from her first show in 2003 to her final show in 2017. Susan’s attention to detail helped CES succeed, and was one of the reasons she became a mentor to so many colleagues at CTA.

“Susan’s passion, dedication and friendship touched many of us here at CTA,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA. “She was a trusted colleague in CES planning and execution, and a wonderful friend who will be missed.”

Susan had deep experience in the technology sector prior to joining CTA. She held a number of marketing and communications roles at Micron Technologies, and served as vice president of marketing and communications at Value America.

A native of Rockville, MD, Susan was a graduate of Towson University. Memorial service arrangements are pending.
